Our fitness team are keen to welcome you to Herongate Leisure to begin your health and well-being journey. They are always happy to answer any questions or concerns that you have regarding your fitness and we would encourage you to make use of the following member benefits.
This is an introduction initially to the cardio gym equipment designed to show you how each piece of equipment can work for you. Following this, you are able to visit the gym and have a go.

A one hour session with one of the fitness team is made. The aim of this session is to understand your fitness goals so that a programme can be designed for you that will include specific exercises on the various pieces of equipment.
A second follow up session can be booked which is designed to keep your training on track. This may involve a tweak to your exercise routine and the inclusion of new exercises.
This programme session can be booked at reception.
Free Personal Training Session
We offer a 45 minute 1:1 session with a Nuffield qualified Fitness Advisor which is a consultation and assessment of your fitness at that point. You may then decide to arrange for some further personal training sessions or continue with your existing fitness regime.

Members are invited to attend a well-being assessment that includes height & weight measurements for B.M.I, blood pressure, VO2 Max & aerobic fitness test, resting heart rate, blood glucose & cholesterol levels from a pin prick blood test, waist & hip circumferences and a review of musculoskeletal. This is all carried out by a qualified person in a private room.
Health MOTs must be booked at reception.
From time to time we invite members to challenge themselves to win a prize. This can involve a series of exercises that are recorded by one of our fitness team with the results being measured against others. The challenges can be internal to Herongate or nationally to include all Nuffield sites.
